Engine Monitor Issue?

Hello Rob,

I analyzed my flight data of my AF-4500 via Savvyanalysis.com and I see some strange EGT and CHT behaviour which can hardly be caused by the physical flight conditions. Now I have to take an issue of the EM/probes or software in consideration.
Please see attached pictures. Do you know what the possible reason could be?

It is hard to tell from the photo, are they when you were transmitting on the radio? We have seen on very rare cases where someone had a problem with radio antenna wiring, location or ground plane that has allowed the radio signal to get into the CHT and EGT probe wiring.

Hi Rob,

looking at previous flight data it looks like as if there is a possibility that the radio transmission gets into the EM system. I will identify if it is COM 1 or COM 2 or both which causes the issue. DO you know what the other person did to solve the issue?

Check the following:

1. Is the Antenna making a good ground connection

2. Did you use RG400 coax?

3. Make sure the Coax is not routed with the CHT/EGT wiring

4. Are your Antenna coax connections good?


5. Install one of these on the CHT/EGT connector if you cant find the source.
