    Af 3500

    Hi guys,

I am new to this forum and have recently aquired a Sportsman witht the AF3500.
My question is are there any updates that it needs? 2010 model
Also the clock keps resetting. Is there a fix for this?

    Any advice would be great

Oh yes and does it not have a winds aloft indicator?

Do you have an "S" CPU with Synthetic vision?

The older AF-3500 EFIS screens without Synthetic vision have a clock battery under the small top cover.

Is the OAT working? without OAT you will not get winds.

Could it be that the clock battery is flat and needs to be replaced?
Please be more explicit as to whee the battterry is located thanks.

Also if i want to adjust the parameters of the EGT temps can i do so on the engine page
My problem is that they are turning red at too lower temp and i want to raise the temp that they turn red?

Also when i monitor the EGT for leaning do i monitor under PEK DETECT EGT OFF?
    Does that sound right

How will i know if i have an "S" CPU ?
I do not have GPS so then i wont get winds aloft right?

The "S" CPU systems have Synthetic vision, it should show on the about page AF-3000s if it is a "S" cpu. You can email info@advanced-flight-systems the serial number and we can look it up.

The EFIS must have a GPS wired to the screen for it to calculate the winds and for the Synthetic vision to work.

The engine range settings are adjusted in the admin calibration settings menu.

    Hi Rob,
Ok i have found the calibration menu but i am stumped as to how to enter the settings.
I want to get the EGT readings to be as follows but cannot seem to get it right.
The readings must be green up to 1450"F
Then turn yellow up to 1500"F
Then turn red from 1500'F upwards

Please explain step by step as to what values i must put in to get this right, as i find it very confusing!!

    I really appreciate your input.

    Regards,

    Peter

Each gauge has a top yellow and red band and then a bottom yellow and red band.

Are you pressing save after entering the values?

    1. Max (Top of Gauge) 1500.0
    2. Red High At 1500.0
    3. Yellow High At 1450.0
    4. Yellow Low At 0.0
    5. Red Low At 0.0
    6. Min (Bottom of Gauge) 1000.0

These settings turn off the bottom yellow and red bands.

    Hi Rob,
    Many thanks for that?
Is that how you set up all the parameters
put the lows at 0.0 and the highs where you want the colours to change?

My 3500 does not have Synthetic vision
the clock seems to be good and then all of a sudden it loses time.
Is there a seperate battery and if so where is it situated?

In this example we want the Oil pressure to display red if it is less than 12 psi or over 36 psi.

Display yellow between 15 and 12 or 30 to 36 psi

Than green band is the area between yellow low and yellow high (15-30) PSI.
