    this page

    http://www.advanced-flight-systems.c...s-options.html

    says:

"Data Logging Easily transfer over 50 hours of stored data to your PC using the convenient SD data card."

How do I get at this data?

    Thanks for the help

    Nevermind, I found it

    RTFM

    Flight Data Logs
Flight Data from the system is downloaded using the SD data card from the Maintenance checklist page. To download flight data do the following:
    1. Place an SD card in the Screen
    2. Press [SET] -> [LOGS]
    3. Choose which logs to download. The options are:
    [TODAY] - Today's Flight(s)
[LST FLT] - The Last Flight
[ALL] - All data logs stored on the system
    Importing Flight Data to Excel
Once the data is saved onto a card, it can be imported into Microsoft Excel by the following procedure:
    1. From Excel select File Open
    2. Change the file type to All Files (*.*)
    3. Open the SD drive folder
    4. Select the *.ALD file to open. The data files are stored using the following name:
    ymmddhhm.ALD where
y year mm month dd date
    hh hour m minute
    5. The Text Import Wizard should start and press Next
    6. Select the Delimiters – Check Tab & Comma and then press Finish

I might add that saavyanlaysis.com is a good free resource to view your data and fully supports the AFS data formats.

Can we open data logs from a Mac with 'Numbers'? instead of Microsoft Excel?

It is a comma delimited text file and should work with Numbers on a Mac.

Even though my 5600 gives me the choice of downloading 5, 10, 20 hours of data, or ALL flights, it looks like it will only download 10 hours, which is 10mB of data. I have selected each of this choices but it still only downloads 10 hours of data. Is that how it's supposed to be? If it only can retain 10 hours of data, why give the choice for 20 hours or ALL?

It is dependent on the Data Logging Interval. If you logged data every 30 seconds you would have a really long data log.

It is once a second. How do I change that? Even once every 3 seconds would triple my time logged.

Some software this can be changed in Admin Settings of Calibration. Latest AF-5000 software this has become fixed to 1 sec.

That's what I thought. Not much point in giving the option of downloading more than 10 hours of data. I'll just remember to download after each flight.
