EGT/CHT cables - OK to reduce excess length?

    Hi AFS,
I have searched the forum for this question but didn't find any hits.

My #2 & #4 cylinder EGT and CHT cables are much longer than required. I understand the differential metal characteristics of thermocouples but don't know what the effects would be of dissimilar length cables across all four cylinders.

Is it OK to cut down some of the EGT and CHT cables ? Do differing length cables affect the readouts on the EMS?

    Thanks,
    Steve

You should cut the CHT/EGT wires to length, it will not affect the temperature readings.
