VAL Avionics starts delivery of the remote mounted comm radio soon. The VAL tech stated it will work with the AFS 5000 series. Will it interface with the 3500/4500?

VAL Avionics starts delivery of the remote mounted comm radio soon. The VAL tech stated it will work with the AFS 5000 series. Will it interface with the 3500/4500?
The VAL and ATS comm will only interface with the AF-5000 series units.
