Thread: Default AOA settings on the 4500 for selected aircraft type

Question Default AOA settings on the 4500 for selected aircraft type

If I set the aircraft type on the 4500 to RV-9A, does that automatically setup the AOA settings for a RV-9A? How close or accurate will these initial settings be and could they be used in a first flight scenario?

No, your unit should have been shipped with RV-9 AOA data. It should be pretty accurate, but it's always a good idea to do the in-flight calibration. It won't take more than about 10 minutes.
