Thread: Flap Position Indicator

    Flap Position Indicator

I have a 3500 "S" processor and have installed the Ray Allen POS-12 flap position sensor. It works fine and the EFIS displays the relative position of the flaps on the display. It seems to me that for those of us that have installed the sensor, if we were able to provide the EFIS with the total degree of flap travel that it would be very easy to display the angle of flap deployment near the indicator. Dynon units have this and it makes it much easier to extend the flaps with precision. Thanks.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll forward it to our software team.

I too would like to see this feature.
Related: Are there any conditions to be met before the flap position indicator is displayed? Mine is not always displayed but I've only got a few hours on my new equipment so cannot report any particular situation other than it is not always displayed whilst in the air but is when on the ground.

Trevor, this feature to display the degrees would be great. My Lancair has a range from -7, 0, 35 . So it would be nice to get also negative Numbers displayed.

I suspect that you have it set to Declutter in the Flap Settings, in this mode it only shows up when it changes. You can set it to Always On in the Flap calibration menu.

    Rob, anyone,
Whilst we're waiting for the degree reading is it possible to change the graphic from four segments to three on the flap position indicator?
I only use three flap positions and it would be nice if the segments on the graphic were in alignment with this.

Lancair pilots with a reflex wing are very happy with 4 segments.
    Different planes, different preferences....
