    ?Incorrect WiFi Password? - Intermittent Problem with AF-5000

    Several times I have had my iPad and iPhone disconnect from the AF-5000 WiFi saying the password is incorrect. Rebooting the AF-5000 fixes the problem, at least temporarily. Rebooting my iPad does not.

    Obviously the password is correct, I have never changed the WiFi password to the EFIS for 4 years.

    Jonathon, please reply to this, it is causing significant problems. As I posted to you before and we never found a solution for it, when I put in a flight plan from Foreflight into the AF-5000, the first leg provides bright magenta HITS boxes, but when I transition to the next leg it has a dark purple color that is invisible in daylight on the screen. My workaround is to resubmit via WiFi my flight plan from Foreflight and this causes my current let HITS boxes to turn the proper bright magenta. However lately I can initially connect via WiFi in from my iPad or iPhone when I power on the EFIS, but soon after both will disconnect and when I try to connect they both say "Incorrect Password". Nothing short of rebooting the EFIS will allow them to reconnect.

    I have also tried to go into the FPL menu and try and force a leg to be my active leg but nothing I have tried works. Is there any way to force the current leg to be active on the flight plan via the EFIS itself or is my only solution to keep reloading the flight plan from the iPad to get the magenta colored boxes back?

    Hal try the following:

    1. if you have not already, please update to V17 EFIS software before next flight.

    2. Try removing the short extension cable from the wi-fi adapter, and plug the dongle direct into the back of your EFIS.

    Let me know if it's still intermittent after trying both of those steps.

    To skip legs in a programmed flight plan, make sure the EFIS CDI is set to INTFP for internal flight plan (to be clear, this is the only CDI source that will accept flight plans from Foreflight). Select the waypoint you want to become the current leg's destination waypoint. Press -D->, then press ACTV.

    Jonathon, I don't have a short extension cable but rather have directly plugged in my Wi-Fi adapter. I will load the new software and report back.

    Hal you should have the short (only 4" long) extension cable; it came with every wi-fi dongle sold for your screen's generation.

    Another thing you should try is this:
    - go to SET --> CAL -->Wi-Fi
    - change WIFI MODE to OFF, press SAVE
    - shut your avionics off completely
    - power back on, go back to SET --> CAL --> Wi-Fi
    - change WIFI MODE back to HOST, press SAVE
    - shut your avionics off completely
    - power back on, connect your ipad to the wi-fi, and see how it goes.
