New To AFS/Seeking tutorial

Hello,
Just joined this group. Friend of mine has RV7 with 2 AFS 5600's, and an IFD 440, but he's not exactly a techie. I'm building an S21 and haven't decided btw AFS vs Garmin. Like the AFS for installation, and met AFS's Kyle George at OSH. Wanted to test drive friends RV7 to see how the AFS works. We were trying to get it to fly an ILS app. Ran into a few problems: Wasn't sure how to do this, since I haven't read the manual. I think it was insert, then activate approach. We tried to fly at uncontrolled airport, but we were against the grain, and it was too busy. After abandoning the approach, we couldn't get rid of the ILS on HSI. Tried going direct to another airport, but the HSI was locked on this ILS app. Is there a place to get a quick start video, or set of instructions to execute ILS, VOR, LOC, and RNAV apps. The quick start guide is pretty general. I need to decide what I want so I can buy the pitot tube since I'm doing the wings now.

It took a while but found simulator on app store and avidyne video. I'll try those first, so belay my last request. Instead, I would ask are you happy with your avionics?

Rob has several YouTube videos that shows the basic buttonology for flying an approach. That assumes everything is appropriately wired properly.

I don’t have an Avidyne, but there should be a button that switches the obs mode from ils to gps.
