    EGT Temps and leaning

Over the years, there has always been a bit of a delay in getting the peak displayed to when I can obviously hear the engine changing is power output. But recently, it can take up to 3-5 seconds for it to display past peak. This sometimes makes it hard to lean as I over lean and the engine runs rough before it displays peak. Consequently, I have to try leaning several times very slowly before getting it right. It seems to be getting more difficult to get to LOP and I'm wondering if this "delay" is normal. I have a 3400 non 'S" engine monitor with a 5600T

It does have some hardware and software filtering, I don't think it is 3-5 seconds. Have you tried it with a heat gun on the probe?
