Lost SVN and AGL after most recent 5600 touch update

Hi - I just update my 5600 touch PFD to Vx15.01.05-MV16 and noticed that synthetic vision is no longer displaying and the AGL meter reads 0 regardless of altitude. My non-touch 5600 MFD still displays SVN and correct AGL fine. Thanks for any info.

    Cheers,
    Jeff

You are probably missing the HRTERRAIN folder from your USB drive.

The issue turned out to be related to the SD card for the 5600. When I DON'T use the SD card in the slot, SVN and AGL work fine. I believe this is because the unit is trying to find the map files on the SD card instead of checking the USB. I've been confused on how AFS treats the SD vs the USB files and specifically what files should be on the SD. Here's what my current SD card has: https://www.screencast.com/t/tm1lOmlpM . By contrast, this is what's on the USB: https://www.screencast.com/t/iQWvq8o2vADq . Note that there are same name .afc and .afd files on both the SD and USB. This seems hazardous if I mistakenly load an old backup, no?

The SD Card should not remain in the display during normal operation. Its also probably named AFS_DATA which is confusing the unit. Rename it to something else like AFS_SD or really anything but AFS_DATA.

Actually, it's named "SDHC". Can you point me to a help doc detailing the SD vs USB setup/purposes?

In short, the SD card isn't recommended or necessary with the current AF-5000 software.

Some users find it easier to use the SD card for updating software, maps, or downloading logs which is fine; but the process is normally faster if done via the USB media.

Our map data download page has each usage case between SD and USB card. http://www.advancedflightsystems.com/af-5000-data.php
