    SL-40 Serial Connection

    Hi All,

    I've a 4500-EE, 430W, ARINC module, and SL-40. The 430W will be Com-1 and the SL-40 will be Com-2.

The wiring harness I purchased did not have a serial line to the SL-40. Should I connect a serial line to the SL-40?

How will the EFIS know to transfer frequencies to the 430 or the SL-40?

    Thank you,
    /\/elson

The EFIS will not be able to transfer frequencies to both the 430 and the SL-40. You will more than likely want to pick the 430 for that function and leave the SL-40 unconnected or connect it to a portable GPS.
