    Vizion385 /AFS settings

Can someone share what settings are being used for roll, pitch settings as laid out for 5600 with TT autopilot? Afs manual only covers SV settings. Trutrak head settings are set according to manual but things such as localizer gain, alt gain, gs gain, fd gain, pid gains are not covered.

Here's what Rob provided for the RV-10:

    EFIS Settings RV-10

    Roll Gain 0.05
    Loc Gain 0.50
    Alt Gain 5.00
    GS Gain 3.00
    FD Gain 1.50

To change autopilot settings, press the following LAT: Press AP button for a few seconds
VERT: Press EFIS button for a few seconds

    AP Settings RV-10

    LAT Activity 9
    LAT Torque 12
    Bank Angle High
    Micro Activity 0
    GPSS Gain 16
    VRT Activity 6
    VRT Torque 12
    MIN Speed 80
    MAX Speed 170
    Static Lag 2
    Micro Activity 0
    Half Step N

Here's what I have for a Cozy and the AF-Pilot (not the Vizion 385 but I believe it's nearly identical). The Cozy has a very small range of motion for the stick so you may find the vertical and lateral activity values wouldn't work for you.

    Device Setting Value

    EFIS Roll Gain 0.05
    EFIS Loc Gain 1
    EFIS Alt Gain 6
    EFIS GS Gain 1.5
    EFIS FD Gain 0.5
    EFIS Min Speed 78
    EFIS Max Speed 180
    EFIS MinsBuf 120
    EFIS ASP Gain 4
    EFIS ASI Gain 0.01
    EFIS ASD Gain 0

    AP Lat Activity 2
    AP Lat Torque 12
    AP Bank Angle Lo
    AP Microactivity 0
    AP GPSS Gain 16
    AP Baud 9600
    AP Yaw Damper N
    AP Vert Activity 1
    AP Vert Torque 12
    AP Min Airspeed 80
    AP Max Airspeed 180
    AP Static Lag 2
    AP Microactivity 0
    AP Half Step N
    AP Pitch On

PID values take some trial and error. This video was the shortest (and mostly easiest to understand) for what each of the values means. Hopefully it'll help.

I’ve been tweaking the ap response during an lpv approach and am having erratic responses as I approach the airport. Particularly in Vertical as almost to minimums I either get an abrupt dive, no descent, or overshoot gs (vfr of course). Should I be looking at gs gain? Is it a matter of live tweaking? Started at 1.5 and going up or down from there but haven’t found the sweet spot. Ap works perfect on its own for intercepting headings, altitudes. Assuming loc gain is for lateral responses?

Do not have a 10,but do have a 7a.During a turn to intercept a final approach course, VS ARM- altitude porpoises during the turn. Called TT(have vizion 385),Zack said to try ALT HOLD during turn. Once on final approach course, intercept FAF from below and hold altitude for at least 3-4 sec. inorder to get CPLD. Willtry this in a couple of days. Also said having two static ports may help (TT-Zack) Will reconnect the second port
