Thread: Wire length for CHT/EGT harness

    Wire length for CHT/EGT harness

What is the preferred length to the CHT/EGT harness? Do you allow enough slack to slide out the unit and then disconnect the 25 pin shell, or is it preferred to disconnect the 25 pin shell first and then slide the unit out? The thermocouple wire is so stiff that it seems like it would be better to keep it relatively straight into the back of the unit and connect/disconnect there rather than forcing it to bend and possibly introducing loads on the connector.

    Thanks,
    John

John, either method will work. The thermocouple wire is stiff so do try and avoid sharp bends. If you can reach behind your panel easily, it may be best to keep the length short and just disconnect from behind.
