    Hits Boxes Disappear - AF-5600

    AF-5600 V12.08.01 AF-73102 GPS

For some time now I've noticed that the HITS Boxes disappear after a period of time when following an internal flight plan, sometimes after passing a fix other times in the middle of a leg. The course line remains normal and I get good course guidance during and after when this happens. The only way that I have found to re-establish them is by re-activating the current leg or going direct to the next fix requiring re-activation. Am I missing something here in my set-up possibly?

This doesn't seem to be associated with this software release exclusively.

Can you send us a copy of your System and Data logs so we can try to replicate the problem? Also you will want to update to 12.08.02 and fix the chart / terrain loading issue.

    Shawn,
I have a complete system backup available, unfortunately it would be too large to upload, its around 13MB. I can extract the files you need to see with win-zip if you can identify ones are of interest you would like to see. Or if you have an alternate way to upload the whole sh-bang, I can do that too.

I will be updating to 12.08.02 ASAP

With an SD card installed press the following sequence:
SET -> LOGS -> SYSTEM then SET -> LOGS -> ALL

Then email support@advanced-flight-systems.com attaching the *.ALS and *.ALD file from the SD card.

Looks like the HITS boxes are having trouble 100 NM away from your start location. I have setup an alert for our software engineers to look into whats going on.

    Yep, It's confirmed..
Today I took a trip from KRTS to KBDN a distance of 272NM. At 100 NM from KRTS, the HITS Boxes disappeared, and again 100 NM later after re-activating Fly Leg in the flight plan. The Activate button always seems to restore the boxes after choosing Direct To or Fly Leg. The boxes disappeared every 100 NM from the point where the last Activation occurred. On the way back I chose direct to from the INFO RCNT list, there was no change in behavior.
