    Checking VAL Nav

How can I ground check the AFS VAL Nav installed with my 5600 display? When I select Nav 1 it displays frequency selected from remote audio panel although I'm not yet hearing the vor audio. The CDI is displayed but no offset lat CDI indication. What is the best way to indicate it is even actively operating?

I have activity on the serial port when testing but no other indication either audio nor onscreen. Is there something I should see onscreen to indicate engagement or activated?

If you are able to tune and display frequencies from the EFIS the devices is correctly wired to the serial. You will see that by powering off the device your NAV will timeout and red X.
