    Battery problem

My battery in our plane failed to start the plane after arriving to my home field from a 20 hour cross country. After testing the starting system I found the 1 year old Odyssey battery had 12 volts across the terminals but would drop down to 3 volts while cranking the engine. I had the battery tested and it failed miserably to produce enough power to turn the engine over.
I downloaded all data files from my 4500 to find any information that could show any evidence of a dying battery. The only thing I could find was evidence of the backvolts dropping from 12 to 8 volts during the last fuel stop before landing at our home field.
Would their be any sign on my 3400 engine monitor that could give me a clue of a pending battery problem like this?
I was just glad the problem waited until I arrived at our home field and not on the ramp at Key West Florida.

Not sure how the EFIS could detect this, if battery was cranking the engine at the last stop it sounds like a sudden failure.
