I’m on my third iteration panel. Iteration 1 was 4500s with a 3400. Iteration 2 was 5500s with a 3400. Iteration 3 is 6600s with a 5500.
The 3400 will have an OS version that hasn’t been...
I don’t know the costs, but Rob did mention that they can upgrade cpu, memory, gpu etc to bring it in line with 6600 specs. I would reach out to AFS for details and costs. I would assume that would...
Rob has several YouTube videos that shows the basic buttonology for flying an approach. That assumes everything is appropriately wired properly.
I don’t have an Avidyne, but there should be a...
I thought all 5000 series have SV-Network support, which would support the AP servos and sv-AP-panel. It wouldn’t use the olde AP controller since that functionality is built into the efis.
The...
I suspect something else is the issue. I just did a 13.5 hour cross country. My son’s iPad mini stayed connected the entire trip with no issues. The only difference is that I have 6600s now.

Sounds like you may have an older AFS ARINC module. If that is the case, upgrade to the Dynon SV-ARINC. If you already have the Dynon version, I would give Jonathon a call.
I suspect it’s an open circuit or you have a gps issue. I have a newer model Garmin, so I’m not familiar with the 480. I’m assuming that there is a page that shows you what satellites you are...
Typically, when I see that message, the gps hasn’t synced with enough satellites yet. I’ve had the map show me someplace else until the gps has synced with the appropriate number of satellites.
Does Ken have a targeted release estimate yet?
If it’s out a ways, does uAvionics have an updater that is PC based that be used to upgrade the 472 firmware directly?
I saw that Dynon/Uavionics released 2.4.58 for the 472. Is there a similar method to perform the firmware upgrade with an AF-6600?

My first recommendation is to give Jonathon at tech support a call. You’ll want to get to know him. He can share all the known issues with some of the older devices.
My first panel had 4500s...
Many AFS/Dynon devices are SV network capable and require being plugged into a SV-Hub to communicate with each other. In the CAL menu, from the SV Network option, you can view the devices that are...
They are the same, so yes, I would follow the bulletin instructions for your serial number. Give Jonathon a call if you have concerns.
The speed change wasn?t until one of the 16.10.* releases. I don?t recall the exact release, but the readme file will document the change.
Think about if your Internet connection went from 50mb...
I switched to the sv-ems when I upgraded from 4500s to 5500s about six years ago. If my memory is correct, it was a pretty easy upgrade. I think there were only one or two sensor wires that had to...
Is the ils working on the avidyne screen? Does it share a split antenna with the other nav radio? If working on the avidyne, I would look at the arinc speed setting for the vor/ils configuration....
What is radio is com1? Did it ever work properly? It may imply that that serial line to the radio has an open circuit, the efis wasn’t configured properly, or the radio config may not be set...
Are you using an internal flight plan or the one on the GTN? I’m in the habit of using my GTN for all flight plans unless I’m going to a private airport that isn’t in garmin’s database. In your...
I had the same thing happen again today with the runway image inverted and at the top of the screen. Blue sky and green ground were unaffected. It happened on the first flight of the day, but not...
I experienced this on one flight last week. It didn’t occur on the second flight of the day. It was on the PFD(6600). My other 6600 was on the map page and it didn’t impact the 5500. It self...
It should, with a mis-matched baud rate, arinc won’t work properly.
I wired my gtn650 and sl40 the day after this was released. I’m starting to get lazy since you can load any of the frequencies off the freq tab on the airport screen to any of the supported coms.
I can’t answer your questions, but all the updates are documented in the release notes in the package and are grouped by released #.
Yes, there are fixes that resolve known bugs. It’s also the...
