Thank you Jonathon! This was just what the box wanted!!

Well, I ran the engine for the first time to day and the tach was significantly incorrect with wildly varying numbers and extreme speeds shown. What did I get wrong? Please feel free to call me to...
Yes, I do have the internal EMS. I very much appreciate your making sure I am doing the right thing!
So, just run the wire from pin 33 to the Emag tach output. Sounds good.
Thanks!
Paul Collins...
I have updated my ignition systems to two P-mags and have a question about how to attach the sensor for the tach to my 5400.
Is the voltage from the 5400 12 volts or do I need to use the diode that...
Very good idea. I like those options on-left side partial - off

As part of my learning curve, I established HITS descent profiles on my approach to my home airport - KEUL. It appears however that they are now etched into the airport files - or whatever - as they...
Actually, you now must use two fingers to select on/off for views.

Thanks. I did figure it out. I was not being "touchy" enough.

After the recent upgrade, I can no longer select the views on the 5400 by touch and drag. I there a new way that I need to select the various options?
Thank you,

Thanks. I went through the information on the website and it was easy to get the proper files loaded and verified!
On thing you might tell folks that use the Seattle Avionics ChartData Manager -...
After I downloaded the update to V16 (which went well) when I re-start the AFS 5400 with the USB in place, I still get the message to update the system.
What files can I delete from the USB?

Thanks for the explanation. The system works great, and so far no CO.

Interesting. The Aithre folks had me put the sensor into pin 12, the power into pin 19 and then ground to aircraft ground. It works in this set-up. Again, this is somewhat different.

I am looking to install an Aithre CO monitor. Can you direct me to the correct image of the wiring diagram to refer to?
Their website is www.aithreaviation.com . Especially information to get the...
Interested as well.
I tap on the right side of the screen to pull up various options (I have a 5400). Then I tap on approach option, tap the lower right knob and get to the correct approach plate and select that. When...
Yes, the software has been updated.

When I set an approach plate up on my 5400, I only have about 30 seconds to move the approach plate around on the screen before it "locks up". To move/adjust it again I need to effectively re-load...
Ok, I tried it and it worked! Here is what I did to change to approach airport for the plates;
Push D (direct)
dial in the proper airport
push the right knob (On the 5400)
select APPRCH
Make...
I will try as well. It might be some quirk (?correct word?) on my system. We shall see.
Thanks, and on we go,

So, you start with a direct-to entry? Does that change the APPLATE display reference airport?

No, I have not been doing a direct flight with the AFS 5400 - I do that on the IFD440. Maybe I need to set the direct course with the AFS and see if the 440 then works with the new approach.
Paul...
Well, what happens is when I load an approach on the IFD440, with the Advanced Flight Systems 5400 set on CDI/GNAV1 in both sites, the first approach loaded shows up on the APPLATE view (You get...
