I just installed system S/W Version 08.08.03-MV16 and now my Hall Effect Current Sensor reading is +174 Amps when it should be reading 0 Amps. Is this a coincidence? Did my hall effect sensor just crap out, or is it possibly related to the system software update? In the calibration menu the offset is still set to what it was set at before ("3" IIRC), but the A/D reading is something like 4017, which is way too high.
Are you running on the internal battery? The Hall sensor never worked when on internal battery power. I just verified that the software is not a problem when running on aircraft power.
No. Not running on internal battery. It reads 0 amps on internal battery. I didn't change anything else either. Everything has been working correctly for several months. It could just be a coincidence, and maybe my hall effect sensor just went bad. I'll check the 10V, GND and sensor output when I get a chance. It's a little hard to get to at this point, so it may be a couple of days. Hopefully the sensor output line should be about 5 VDC for a reading of 0 Amps. If not, the sensor could have gone TU.
Never mind... I found the problem and it was a coincidence. It ended up being a bad connection.
