I I have an “old CPU” (original) 3500EE that I believe had been upgradable to a 4500 for on the order of $2k. Will that remain possible into the future? (You mention on the Support Forum that the 4500 line is being discontinued.) Let me also echo some comments on the Forum that a 5000-series upgrade for the 3500 seems like it would make sense as well (I see that you are working on an AF-5200 as an upgrade to the AF-3400), and I would certainly be interested.

Might there be an “AFS-specific” version of the Gemini AP880 in the future (in the same sense that the AF-Pilot is a modified Trutrak product)? I currently have an ADI Pilot II that I would love to upgrade with a Gemini (when the autopilot version comes out), and an AFS-specific version would be one more reason to upgrade to a 4500 (or, better yet, a 5000 that would fit in the 3500-sized hole in my panel).

We are looking at what it would take to make a version of the AF-5000 that will fit into the AF-3500 panel. I suspect that there will be an AFS version of the Gemini AP when it is ready.

Rob,

I just noticed your following reply on the "S cpu" thread: "We will soon have a solution, the new AF-5400T is a new AF-5000 with touch screen that mounts in the same hole as at the AF-3500 and AF-4500." Can I assume that this upgrade path will also include the "original CPU" 3500?

John

Yes, it will also be an upgrade for the non "S" AF-3500 systems.
