Disabling Landing gear switch for fixed gear

Should the landing gear wire be grounded for fixed gear operation? I can see in the documentation how to configure it - but not how to disable it.

I have one of the early seperate box units.

Just getting to the point where I am setting it up.

Yes, that wire should be grounded for fixed gear aircraft.
