AoA Sport. Audio very faint.

I have a funkwerks atr500 VHF transceiver with built in intercom. I terminated the audio lead from the supplied harness on the headphone tip. Audio is very faint and winding up the pot on the circuit board makes no difference. Is this problem because of the built in intercom and/or impedance mismatch?

Anybody any ideas?

Pins 12 and 25 on the AOA are both audio out one is 560 ohms and one is 25 ohms. Typically, the 560 ohm output is for the audio panel with an internal amplifier and the 26ohm is for the headset jacks directly. I am not familiar with the funkwerks but you typically use an un-switched audio input on an intercom to connect the 560 ohm audio from the AOA. If your intercom doesn't have an un-switched audio input you can tie it in with the radio input.
