Have people reported good service from the MAP sensor located on the hot side of the firewall, or is it better / longer lifetime to run a bulkhead connector thru and mount the sensor on the cooler inside?

Also, is a restrictor recommended in the line to get smooth readings?

Thanks!

The preference would be to locate the MAP sensor behind the panel, on the cabin side of the firewall. The MAP sensor may see a longer life in a cooler environment. A restrictor shouldn't be necessary.

Trevor, will a restrictor hurt anything? I'm replacing a Dynon system (it used the same MAP sensor), and it required the restrictor. For ease of installation with my new AFS equipment I'd prefer to leave the MAP tubing and fittings as they were with the old system. Thanks

You can use the restrictor.
