The AF-3000-4000 System Manual says to "boot the EFIS in CONFIG mode and select: 1. Admin Settings -> 21. Diagnostics -> 8. ARINC VOR Test.

I cannot find a description of how to boot the EFIS in CONFIG mode. How is this done?

Use the buttons CHECK -> MAINT > ADMIN > and hold CALIB button

One additional note: You can't enter 'calibration mode' if the plane is flying or thinks it is flying. I say "thinks it is flying" because when I had the pitot/static cert check done, I was unable to correct an offset because the pitot/static test equipment was still "testing" - hence, the EFIS thought we were just flying along.

Actually you can. Use the same button pushes you normally use. The CALIB label is not shown, but the button still works and you can enter calibration mode in flight. I did this when tuning my auropilot settings in flight, and also when calibrating my altimeter on the ground as you mentioned.

That's a good one Noah! Talk about smoke-n-mirrors.

We try and discourage going into calibration while flying the plane, the button still works so you can get into calibration in case you mess up the calibration and it is showing airspeed.

Rob, isn't there a way to go straight from power up to the calibration menu? Holding down some combination of keys or something when the unit gets turned on?

Thanks, Ron

Not on the new "S" CPU systems.
