Hi Rob:

I am just in the process now of hooking up my wing wiring to the airplane (RV-7). My question concerns the fuel gauges (float type sensors). I have read and examined the fuel tank calibration page and am wondering if there is any way to determine that the quantity circuitry is functional without actually putting fuel in the tanks and going through the the calibration process. I just wanted to know if the gauges are getting some type of reading. I thought the current AD reading might change if the tank gauge wire was disconnected but it seems to read the same.

Thanks

The Current AD number should change when you disconnect it. You should have a large number >3000 when the wire is disconnected and then it should be (100 - 1000) when it is connected. If you touch the wire to ground it should be around 0.
