Trevor, I just got the GTN-650 and am installing my avionics now in an RV-8. I'm still awaiting the AF-4500EE from y'all. The pin outs are quite different than the 430 according to the 650 manual. Has AFS seen the 650 install manual yet? I may need some extra help figuring out how to hook up the two. The 650 manual shows a lot of wires needed to go to an EFIS/CDI etc. yet your schematics show a lot less via ARINC. Can you shed any light on this? I'm sure I'll be calling w/ very detailed questions soon as I start building the harnesses. Any chance AFS will have a GTN 650 addendum to your install manual in the near future?

Thx,
Mark

Hi Mark, we will create a wiring diagram for the GTN-650 soon. The wiring will be the same as the GNS-430 as far as the wires needed (pins are different of course). The GTN-650/750 will still require altitude encoder input from the EFIS, a serial port for AVTN data to the EFIS, and provide GPS and VOR/ILS ARINC data out to the EFIS ARINC adapter.

I thought somebody posted a schematic awhile ago. I remember seeing it before I ordered my GTN-650, but now I can't find it here or on the main site. Please point me to the appropriate location.

thanks,

bob

Hello Bob,

If you go to our website and click the Support tab and select AF-4500, that schematic is on the list with the others.

That's where I thought I saw it previously, but all that I see now is the 430 and 480.
