AOA Audio to unswitched input

I am currently ringing out the AOA harness in prep for install and noted that the Audio shield is grounded at the CPU end per the instructions, however the PS Engineering harness unswitched input is already grounded at the audio panel per their instruction. In this case is it OK to "float" the shield at the CPU end?
