View Full Version : flap switch location and use

I am building an RV-6 with electric flaps. What is the best location for the flap switch, at the electric drive or by the bar behind the seats driving the flaps. You indicate in the manual that there are installation photos on your site. Where are they?

I would also like to see some installation photos or a sketch. I talked to the Ray Allen people and they said to use the position sensor that they sell, but they did'nt have any instalation drawings. I guess I would attach a push rod with Heim joints to the flap arm behind the passenger seat and connect it to the position sensor. It's not a straight shot so the geometry would have to be thought out. The sensor would be attached to the rear of the passenger seat bulkhead

There have been suggestions that the switch go in the center console with the electric flap control mechanism. There is a drawing on Vans forum, but it is for an rv 10. Photos for a 6 or 7 would be nice.
