HI.
I will have 2 4500 efis and i often fly IFR.
I will have one gnc 430W, one sl-30, one afs gps and one garmin era 500
I woul like to have as much redundancy as possible in the event of one 4500 failure. I know that both 4500 can exchange with the ethernet cable but will the second 4500 will receive information from the GPS or SL-30 in the event of the first 4500 failure?
If not, would it be possible to splice arinc connection from one arinc adaptor to both 4500 and do the same for the sl-30.
i would like to connect the era 500 for gps data as back-up in the event of a electrical failure Is it easy to switch gps input in flight ?

Thank You

The ARINC adapter can only be connected to one of the units, so having the SL-30 and a backup battery powered GPS (like the AFS GPS or Aera 500) should be connected to your second unit. This will enable redundancy in the event one of your units failing. With your equipment list, here is what I would do.
#1 4500
GNS-430
Aera 500

#2 4500
SL-30
AFS-GPS
