Drawing 53600WD shows to terminate the shields of shielded cables to the ground screw on the EFIS case. The drawing does not show the other end of the shield grounded. Should they be? In the G430 installation manual the shield of every shielded data cable is grounded at both ends. Thanks

You should only shield the wires at one end.

I cleared all routed and tried again, direct on 430W to home field. A/P tracked fine. But no route showing on map display.

The Autopilot is following the EFIS CDI data that comes from the ARINC-429 interface. The route data is coming from the RS-232 Aviation data.

1. Verify that you have the 430W serial port set to AVIATION and it is correctly wired to the EFIS.

2. Verify that you DO NOT have an EFIS GPS/NAVA data source (1,2,3) set the EFIS aviation serial port. You must only have the EFIS GPS/NAV source pointed to the ARINC serial port.
