View Full Version : CO Guardian Interface Questions

Somewhere I saw that the new 7.8.14 MV 15 software will support interfacing the CO Guardian 353P-101 to the EFIS via rs-232 interface. Also the installation manual mentions this, but doesn't give a lot of detail.

Does the interface allow control (remote reset, test, etc) of the CO Guardian, or does it just interface data received from the CO Guardian (CO level, alarms, etc)? If not, will this be supported in future software versions and should I connect the RS-232 transmit line from the EFIS to the CO Guardian?

Best regards,
Paul Winkels

Hi Paul, the RS-232 just passes the CO level (PPM) and pulse ox to the EFIS. No reset or test features are currently integrated.

Will the EFIS generate an alarm (master warn light and/or audio alert) on a high CO level, or should I also wire the audio output of the CO detector (just a beep, as far as I understand) to one of the alert inputs on my intercom?

Thanks ~

Yes, it will trigger an alert on the EFIS and the audio will come through the EFIS.

Has the Test/Reset feature been implemented now?

Have just acquired a Guardian 353-201 CO Detector and it would be handy to not need to install a separate Test/Reset Button in the panel.

Thanks,
Steve

We do not have any plans implement the test/reset in software, install the switch.
