Hi - I'm the proud new owner of an RV-10 with one touch 5600, a non-touch 5600, and a non-touch 5500. This is my first glass panel, and I really like the AFS design. I just want to understand how and when to update. Here are screenshots of my system info:

I think I'm up-to-date on Base Map / Cultural Data and Terrain, but I'm not sure about Geo-referenced Charts and Airport Diagrams. The Obstacles data probably needs to be updated. And what about the core AFS software? Of course, there's probably a help doc and/or video with all this info. If so, please point me in the right direction. Oh, I also am waiting to hear from Seattle Avionics about that database. Thanks for any info.

Cheers,
Jeff

I didn't check your photos, but you can find all the information here:

Current Release:

http://dynonavionics.com/af-5000-software-updates.php

AFS Maps and Data:

http://dynonavionics.com/af-5000-data.php

Plates, Charts, and Sectionals:

Seattle Avionics usually has deals at the various trade shows and on Black Friday. Usually you can get a lifetime subscription to the plates, charts, and sections for the cost of a couple years subscription. This data is updated every six weeks, so it doesn't take long to get stale data.

There are good tutorials on how to do the updates in the manuals.

So everyone who gets into this end up with a lifetime sub sooner or later? If that's so, I may get it too even though I'm a newbie and I don't really need it atm.
