Switching to ios

I'm interested in switching to using iOS platform for all my updates. Specifically El Capitan. What is the best way forward. Have used the flash drive that came with 5400t to update newer version, 12.8. Can I just reformat using iOS? Then download to the same flash or do I need a different flash drive?

You will need to keep the FAT/32 format that is currently on your flash drives and just use them as normal. Seattle Avionics Data Manager doesn't support iOS so you will have to work around that.
