The manual calls for a "restrictor hole" in the engine location where the OP sensor taps into.
My p/u point is a 1/8" npt port in my FW located remote filter/thermostat incoming oil galley. I am mounting the OP transducer in this port. The transducer itself looks like it has about an .020 hole in it. Is there a need to further restrict oil at the remote filter port? Why?

Thanks,
John

John, the idea of a restrictor is to dampen any pulsations as well as prevent a large leak if that line were to break. Adding a restrictor is not mandatory, but recommended.

Trevor,
OK I understand if there's a hose connection to the transducer. But in my case, the transducer is screwed in to a port on my remote oil filter/thermostat mounted on the FW, so it is not subject to engine vibration. There is no hose to fail.
So I will rey on the hole in the transducer to damp out any pulsation from the oil pump.

Thanks,
John
