I have the afs adsb module hooked up to my MFD, have verified power, ground, correct tx, rx pins and cannot get loop back information to read like I can on all other inputs. Is there a key required for adsb to operate on afs screen? Scan does not reveal anything in setup/cal mode. There is a red light flashing on adsb unit. I also don't see any weather options in any setup screen nor do I see anything indication of operation of adsb on screen.
ADSB mode= MASTER
ADSB data= NOT FOUND
Message count= 0000
Gps updates= 0000

I have serial inputs set correct to inputs in admin settings.
Have tried transponder settings to trigger adsb, I am sitting in the hangar with all antennae hooked up. Understand I may not receive antenna data but don't see any indication of system on

The loopback test is meant to be performed with a wire in place of the the device. In the 74112 AF-ADSB module it would be a loopback would be placed between pin 2 and 3. This shorts TX and RX to perform the loopback.

A key is not required for ADS-B.

Ok I misunderstood the loop back even though some of the inputs show data activity. I will confirm activity with jumpers in place.
