Purchased a VSGVII harness quite a while before the AFS-Pilot was announced. Any modifications required to make this harness work with the AFS-Pilot & 4500?

No modifications are required, however you will probably want to get the autopilot sent to TruTrak for a software update just before you are ready to start flying.

One quick comment, depending on who made it and when the harness was made, the RS232 Tx line from the AP to the EFIS may not be there. It's pin 7 on the AP.

OK,
Didn't see this on any of the schematics. So Pin 7 of AFS/TT autopilot head is a serial TX and can go to any of the free serial RX connections on the EF or EE efis unit?
Thanks,

My harness was built by SteinAir about 2 years ago, and contains the following wires coming out of the autopilot head connector:

white/black - Control wheel switch engage / disengage
blue - from GPS receiver (Primary serial input)
white - Aux RS-232 output (labeled future expansion)
green - Aux RS-232 input (labeled future expansion)
orange - ARINC-A (GPSS Option only)
yellow - ARINC-B (GPSS Option only)
yellow loop - cut for pitch servo reverse
red +12V
black - Ground

So given that this harness contains the white and green wires, am I correct that this harness has full AFS-Pilot functionality and is identical to a harness if purchased today for this purpose and needs no modification prior to being put in service??

Noah, you will not need the 'AUX RS-232 OUTPUT'. While Lucas is correct about pin 7, we are not using it at this time.
