Ok...what about PocketFMS...I believe they also offer approach plate...any chance these can be viewed on the 5000?

Not in their current format. We are moving to an open charting standard that will make more data available in the future.

I heard from PocketFMS about getting the EasyPlates on the AFS...they said the following:-

"That’s 100% up to Dynon & AFS! It’s already incorporated into the SkyView systems, and since AFS is now part of Dynon, the option certainly is a real one."

Correct, to restate my last post, our software will be need to be written to accommodate the new file format. We adopted the Seattle Avionics format when we started the AF-5000 series and in order to support alternative vendors that didn't want to create their files in this format we have created an new format. SkyView has already implemented this change to their software.

Just wanted to check if any progress has been made on support for the "open charting standard".

Nothing at this point.

Will this be included in an upcoming release? It's a bit disappointing for European owners of AFS avionics not to have this capability especially when it is available in Skyview.

Yes, this is on our future feature list.
