Hi AFS,

My VDO fuel pressure sensor has, yet again, died.

What is needed to convert over to a Kavlico setup and the associated costs? I've a single 4500EE s/n 61134.

Thank you,

The sensors can be purchased by calling Tricia here at 503-263-0037 x 2. She will need to know if you are injected or carbureted for fuel pressure.

If your screen does not have -V in the part number, the EE/EM screen needs to be sent in to be converted to a EE/EM-V. This will allow the sensor to drive its voltage signal into the EFIS. This is $100 and comes back re-verified and set up for plug and play.

Wiring needs to be added from pin 37, ground, and pin 19 , +5v sensor power, from the EM Harness out to the sensor mounting location. Note that you can tee the power and ground to both Kavlico sensors wherever most convenient for your installation.

Thanks Shawn. This seems like an ideal upgrade to perform during my next annual as I believe my screen is just a plain EE.

?: Once the conversion is done on the screen, can I still mix-n-match the resistive and Kavlico units or do I need to swap out both oil and fuel pressure transducers to Kavlico?

Thanks,

VDO sensors can be used by adding sensor power back into the signal through a 1.02kΩ resistor.

Fantastic - Thank you, Shawn.
