Wondering if there is a strategic use of the carb temp input to engine monitor that I could hook up another sensor to maybe engine compartment? or to monitor oil cooler outlet air temp?

I've thought the same thing. Anybody know the wire color codes for a carb temp thermocouple?

The carb input (engine module pin 4) can accept a resistive sensor like the 40,405 VDO.

Can you expound on this a little more? And practical application?

If you aren't interested in monitoring carb icing then any form of auxiliary temperature that you may be interested in measuring.

Haven't found yet the sensor you reference, but can that line be renamed in the AFS Efis?

The line will ready CARB below the Manifold Pressure or of you use the Coolant Temp input it will read COOL below RPM.

Hi - interesting discussion - but very simple: Where do I monitor the Carb Temp ? Can't seem to find it on my system ? Could the "instrument" be disabled in my setup ?

You have to turn the gauge on in the carb temp setup.
